Okay, maybe people really have been dumbed down over the years from chemicals, media mushing their brains and so forth but I can't believe this. I decided to start a thread entitled 'The Stupid Files' because sometimes, you got to read about them in order to believe them. Wow.

Woman charged with offering sex for baseball tickets so she and her husband could attend World Series game

A mother-of-two has been charged with offering to trade sex for tickets to see her favourite sports team play.

Susan Finkelstein was so desperate to see the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team compete in the World Series against the New York Yankees she offered herself for sale, police said.

The 43-year-old is accused of placing an advert on internet site Craiglist under the heading: 'Desperate Blonde needs WS Tix'.

She described herself as a tall, buxom blonde adding: 'Price negotiable -I'm the creative type! Maybe we can help each other.'

Police in Philadelphia, who scour Craigslist for prostitutes and child molesters, responded to the advert.

An undercover officer met Finkelstein at a Philadelphia bar where she offered to perform sex acts in return for a ticket.

Finkelstein, a former PR director at University of Pennsylvania, then asked if the 'fan' had a second ticket.

The officer told her he and his brother had tickets to sell.  

Finkelstein offered to perform sex acts on both of them, saying, 'Well, I'd rather have two tickets, and I could take care of both of you.'

The married woman was arrested and charged with prostitution.

On the bright side, she's now been offered a pair of tickets to a weekend game in Philadelphia, courtesy of a radio station and car dealer.

Today she told reporters: 'I didn't do anything wrong, so I'm not embarrassed about my actions. I'm embarrassed about how I was arrested.

'I was hoping to maybe meet someone, and talk, and bat my eyelashes and maybe get some tickets,' she said.

Her lawyer William Brennan said: 'She was overcome with Phillies fever.

'She and her husband were looking for a chance to go to the World Series and she wound up in handcuffs.'

She might have dropped double entendres in her Craigslist ad but never explicitly offered sex, he added.

The World Series is the baseball equivalent of the FA Cup final.

Finkelstein faces a preliminary hearing on December 3.

On her Facebook page, she says she dreams of being 'a Phillies groupie'.

There was no disguising what these two characters had been up to moments before police pulled them over in America.

Would-be burglars Matthew McNelly and Joey Miller's masterplan contained one tiny flaw - their 'disguises' comprised of masks drawn on their faces using pemanent marker pen.

The pair had been reported after a witness spotted two men 'with painted faces' trying to break into a flat in Carroll, Iowa.

The caller added that the pair were wearing dark, hooded tops and had driven off in a big white car.

Police soon spotted a 1994 Buick Roadmaster matching the description and stopped it at gunpoint.

Inside they found the two men, both of whom had what appeared to be masks, beards or moustaches scrawled on to their faces.

McNelly, 23, and Miller, 20, were both charged with attempted second-degree burglary and released on bail.

McNelly was also charged with drunk driving.

The pair are due in court next month. Hopefully the disguises will have washed off by then.

But when it is 'Octomum' Nadya Suleman and she also disguises her eight babies as little devils, the shudder becomes more of a convulsion.

The mother of fourteen - including her octuplets born in January this year - poked fun at herself as she headed out with her eight IVF babies to celebrate Halloween.

The effort of thinking up eight different costumes for the babies was apparently too much for her, however, as she dressed them all the same - as little red devils.

Complete with two giant prams draped in spider webs, the familiy made for a bizarre sight as they headed out for some trick or treating in La Habra, California, in the run up to Halloween this week.


Ms Suleman is poised to star in her own reality TV show after the saga over her babies' controversial birth.

The unemployed single mother faced a backlash after the birth of her babies in January when she and the doctors who treated her were criticised for going ahead with the pregnancy.

The babies, born in California, were only the second set of octuplets in America to survive for more than a few hours after birth.

Don't see how we can judge her for choosing to sell sexual services for baseball tickets. It's her choice if she believes a violation of her body is worth the chance to see the game. Personally I'd rather eat dirt and starve than sell my body, but that's my choice as well.

Marriages between older men and girls many years younger than them are common in Somalia

A Somali man who claims to be 112 years old has married a 17-year old girl.

'Today God helped me realise my dream,' Ahmed Mohamed Dore said, after the wedding in the region of Galguduud.

Bride Safiya Abdulle's family said she was 'happy with her new husband'.

Dhore says he wanted to marry Abdulle for a long time but waited for her to grow up.

'I didn't force her, but used my experience to convince her of my love; and then we agreed to marry,' he was quoted by the BBC as saying.

He said his children and two other wives agreed to the marriage, as did Abdulle's parents.

And he claimed he wants to have more children with his young bride.

The pair celebrated their marriage late Tuesday in central Somalia before hundreds of guests.

Somali adolescent girls are often married off to older men, but it is rare for a man as old as Dhore to marry a girl of Abdulle's age.

Dhore claims to be 112, but there is no way to verify the claim.

This marriage was his 6th; three of Dhore's wives have died.

Polygamy is widely practiced in predominantly Muslim Somalia.

When James Miller decided to dress as a comical breathalyser test for Halloween, the last thing he should have found himself doing at the end of his night out was blowing into a real one.

But that's exactly what happened to the 18-year-old when he was stopped by police on suspicion of drink-driving.

Miller was arrested after he was seen heading the wrong way down a one-way street in a car with no headlights on at about 1.30am on Sunday in Oxford, Ohio.

After being pulled over, Miller allegedly stuffed his mouth with chewing gum and told officers he had not been drinking.

However, police found an open can of beer by the driver's seat, a partial case of beer on the front passenger seat and more alcohol in the boot of the car.

Miller was taken to the Oxford police department, where he was found to be nearly twice over the legal limit.

He was charged with underage drinking, driving under the influence of alcohol and a one-way street violation.

Miller was also found to have multiple Ohio IDs.

He was released to his girlfriend, a Miami University student, according to an Oxford Police Department report.

We had a good one about 6 years ago at our really smart police station. They had a man who was wanted on federal bank robbery charges in their jail for a one night holding. He asked one of the jailers if He could have an extension ladder to paint the back board on the basketball court at 8:00 PM and of course they gave Him one. He used the ladder to climb out and got away. They never found Him.
