private school, anyone?  maybe it's time to put down the SUVs, the big fancy houses, and the satellite TV to pay for a private education, where you DO have rights.  if people just start pulling their children out of public schools, the message may get across.  and if it doesn't, then whatever-your kids are in private schools unaffected by federal mandates, because they are not federally funded.  they are still subject to state and federal law regarding learning requirements, but the likelihood of them teaching about homosexuality and other stupid shit will be alot less likely...

What exactly are you saying, Brandon? You mean, "homosexuality and other stupid shit" doesn't exist if the kids don't learn about it in school?

Put into a different context, that means that Osama Bin Laden did 9/11, Lee Harvey Oswald killed JFK, East European Jews are the chosen people who have a right to do what they're doing in Palestine and the H1N1 vaccine is safe.

Come on, man. Step into the 21st century already.

All that being said, I don't defend "homosexuality and other stupid shit". I do, however, acknowledge  their existence. How are kids going to trust their parents and teachers if they lie by omission? Like me, weren't you lied to by omission as a kid? Look where it got you.

slow down, turbo... you're reading far more into my post than I wrote.  I don't condone or deplore homosexuality.  what I deplore and oppose is indoctrination, of any sort.  if someone does not want their child to learn about homosexuality, for whatever the reason, that is their right, and that is what I'm defending. period.  I don't have to agree with them...

I think it was W.C. Fields who used to say: "I'll buy that for a Dollar."

Americans too often teach their children to despise those who hold unpopular opinions. We teach them to regard as traitors, and hold in aversion and contempt, such as do not shout with the crowd, and so here in our democracy we are cheering a thing which of all things is most foreign to it and out of place - the delivery of our political conscience into somebody else's keeping.
