Los Angeles KFI radio hosts John and Ken responded on their July 1st broadcast to CA Assembly Speaker Karen Bass comments, in which she referred to anti-tax activists as terrorists. John and Ken have a long history of supporting socialist politicians such as Schwarzenegger and then reacting with outrage after the socialists enact what they espoused. The radio hosts shilled for Schwarzenegger when he ran for governor and even hosted campaign rallies for him, despite his clearly socialist and big-government positions. They later turned critical of him and even promoted a Schwarzenegger recall, after their former ‘hero’ showed his true colors. John, who poses as a loud-mouthed populist on his Clearchannel show, also shilled for neocon Mitt Romney for president and when called on Romney’s anti-gun stance, stressed that he “doesn’t care about people’s gun issues”.
Nevertheless, advocating lower taxes is one thing John and Ken do right. While they have not covered Ron Paul’s bill to audit the fed, have never dared to question the constitutionality of the income tax, and generally hold a statist view on nearly everything, they are rightly outraged that a ‘political hack’, as they refer to them, should call them terrorrists.
When asked by the L.A. Times Pat Morrison “How do you think conservative talk radio has affected the Legislature’s work?”, Bass replied
“The Republicans were essentially threatened and terrorized against voting for revenue. Now [some] are facing recalls. They operate under a terrorist threat: “You vote for revenue and your career is over.” I don’t know why we allow that kind of terrorism to exist. I guess it’s about free speech, but it’s extremely unfair.”
Karen Bass should revist the oath she swore to the California and U.S. Constitutions, and be reminded that she has no authority to either ‘allow’ or ‘restrict’ our speech, as our rights do not come from elected servants. Our right to speech is a natural and God given right. The first ammendment simply prohibits government from restricting that right.
Bass’ comments should also outrage democrats, who purportedly opposed republican labeling of dissent as “terrorism”. Those not familiar with this issue of labeling dissent as terrorism might find a study of this issue useful. Years ago the FBI’s Joint Terrorism task Force in Phoenix released a pamphlet in which they referred to those who mention the Constitution and “police the police” as terrorists. In February 2009, the Missouri “MIAC Strategic Report: The Modern Militia Movement” labeled Ron Paul supporters, and other Constitutionalist and libertarian types as terrorists.
The Virginia State Police call right wingers and constitutionalists terrorists, as do the Kentucky cops and nearly every other state, whose memos have been declassififed or leaked. As Reagan administration official Paul Craig Roberts outlines in his article Legislating Tyranny, republicans have led this charge of demonizing dissent long before the Democrats.
Recently, a Dept. of Homeland Security terrorism document got a lot of play, as it referred to Pro-lifers and those who are anti government ‘extremists’ as ‘terrorists’. Infowars reported that the House Demands Full Disclosure On DHS “Right-wing Extremism” Report, but also pointed out a key issue which no one else has mentioned, that the DHS “Rightwing Extremism” Document Created During Bush Administration.
The grossly misnamed “Patriot Act”, which was drafted under occultist drunk George W Bush, was intended to take our liberties under the phony guise of protecting us from terrorism, the majority of which is perpetrated not by boogeymen in a cave, but by criminal elements within the U.S. government itself.
James Madison, 4th U.S. President and “Father of the Constitution”, said “If tyranny and oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy.” He also said “All men having power ought to be distrusted”. Patrick Henry, warned “We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth… For my part, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst; and to provide for it.”
On this week after July 4th, Independence day, instead of revelling in beer and flying cheap flags made in communist China, we might be smart to heed their warnings.
