FOOD CLOTHING AND SHELTER

Due to weird weather, many crops around the world have failed. No need to panic, however it would be prudent to lay in a supply for back up as prices are predicted to increase.
A few week earlier, I believe it was gimp who posted an article about crop failures in the cotton industry. Mainstream media is already reporting a significeint increase in the cost of jeans, duh, jeans are made out of cotton. Expect increases in all cotton products in the near future, underwear, t-shirts, etc. I’ve begun canniblizing old kaki pants I find in free boxes to make myself vests, blouses, skirts etc because I suspect it will be a hot summer and I won’t be shopping for summer cloths.
Lots, of foreclosures these days. Lot’s of people out of work/homeless. Think twice about tossing out that old canvas, plastic or shower curtains. They might be just what you are someone else may need fo shelter.
In summary, have a prudent reserve of food. I have what I call my Apocalypse stash of food, canned and dried foods that I go into when times get rough. I keep on hand various textiles that I can make simple clothes out of to supplement my wardrobe.
I use old shower curtains for groundcover when I have a lil picknic with friends or want to work on a handi-crafts project while camping.
This might be a good time to brush up on your survival skills, camping skills and learn some useful handicrafts projects. IMHO.
love, zy
